To create this artwork, Sui Jianguo found a beautiful stone on the building site of World Expo, and magnified it, using the wire netting structure to create a massive hill. The landscape in Chinese art represents a chapter in itself. By revisiting this issue in his own way and by renewing both the material condition and questioning the surface treatment of the work, the artist is facing a futuristic perspective of a new type. The use of metal honeycomb technology refers to the reality of the landscape as something completely generic like a logo or an icon of post-modern times.
